Huawei, together with Ugandan telecom operator MTN and HIMA Cement, recently launched Uganda's first 5G digital cement factory project. This is the first case of 5G technology commercialisation in the manufacturing industry in Uganda. By deploying 5G in the cement plant, the project aims to leverage the "high bandwidth, low latency and wide connectivity" of 5G technology to enable real-time data transmission in the production area and drive functions and applications such as edge computing, thereby significantly improving the plant's productivity.
